Phil Foden contract: Man City midfielder agrees new deal in principle

Phil Foden has agreed a new four-year deal in principle. Manchester City.
The 25-year-old’s current contract was due to expire next summer but new terms will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2030, with the option of a further year.
While midfielder Foden has struggled to keep up form in recent months and has not scored a goal since December 14, the new contract signals a commitment from both parties to continue working together.
Foden came on as a substitute in Monday’s six-goal thriller at Everton, which left City five points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal with a game in hand.
The midfielder hopes to feature in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for this summer’s World Cup.
