Confident our partnership will continue to deepen, says EAM Jaishankar as he greets Bosnia and Herzegovina on their National Day

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday congratulated Bosnia and Herzegovina and external affairs minister Elmedin Dino Konakovic on the occasion of National Days, expressing confidence that bilateral relations will continue to strengthen.

In his post on

India and Bosnia and Herzegovina held their 4th Foreign Ministry Consultations (FOC) in Sarajevo on 28 November 2024. The Indian side was led by Arun Kumar Sahu, Additional Secretary (Central Europe), Ministry of External Affairs. In the statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated that the Bosnian side was headed by Tarık Bukvic, Head of the Asia and Africa Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the FOC meetings, both sides carried out a comprehensive review of bilateral, regional and international issues. The talks focused on the progress made between the two countries in political relations, trade and investments, cooperation in the field of science and technology, cultural relations, people-to-people contacts through student and youth exchange, and support for tourism.
Under the MEA, both sides exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, including developments in the neighborhoods of India and Bosnia and Herzegovina, multilateralism including BRICS, UN, EU, NAM and global developments of mutual interest.

India and Bosnia have warm and friendly relations with multifaceted cooperation in various sectors. According to the MEA, Bosnia and Herzegovina attaches great importance to good relations with India and both countries are working to further develop and strengthen multilateral cooperation, including in economic and cultural fields.
Jaishankar had last met Konakovic on February 21 during his visit to Delhi at Raisina Dialogue 2024.
