“This is justice not only for the people of Iran, but also for all the Great Americans and the people in many countries of the world who were killed or maimed by Khamenei and his bloodthirsty gang of STUFF,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account.
The US president said the killing of Iran’s leader was a rare opportunity for the embattled Middle Eastern country to “Take back their country”, adding that he had heard some members of Iran’s security forces no longer wanted to fight and wanted immunity.
He said the United States would continue “heavy and precise bombing” for as long as necessary to ensure “peace in the Middle East and indeed the world.”
His comments came as Dubai and Abu Dhabi were also rocked by explosions as the US attacked Iran and the Tehran regime opened fire on Israel and airports in the UAE.
Meanwhile, at the United Nations, UN Secretary-General António Guterres touched upon the news of the death of Iran’s religious leader in his opening speech of the UN Security Council session on Iran.
He said he was not in a position to confirm the news about the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, but he deeply regretted that the opportunity for diplomacy had now been squandered.
