Congress Alleges Modi’s ‘Na Khaunga’ Promise Was a Hoax

In a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Congress on Monday said his ‘na khaunga na khane doonga’ statement was a “hoax” as it provided “minimum governance, maximum cover-up”. The opposition party claimed that the situation was always a “khaunga, khane doonga, aur khilaunga” under the chief minister’s leadership.
Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh boasted that Modi had promised “na khaunga na khane doonga”, highlighting that he became the prime minister in May 2014.
“This was soon revealed to be a hoax when Dr. Manmohan Singh described the demonetisation on November 8, 2016 as ‘organized looting and legal plunder’,” Ramesh said in a post on X. he said.
He alleged that the Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation was forcibly merged with the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation to cover up the Rs 20,000 crore “scam” that took place during Modi’s tenure as Gujarat chief minister.
Ramesh argued that the introduction of electoral bonds was part of the massive ‘chanda do, dhanda lo’ scam of Rs 4 lakh crore.
“The explosive growth of the Modi empire has exposed the true nature of the Modi regime, evidenced by the 100 questions posed to the prime minister in Congress’ ‘Hum Adani Ke Hain Kaun’ series,” Ramesh said. he said.
He pointed out that serious questions regarding the Rafale deal were never satisfactorily answered.
“A completely non-transparent and unaccountable PM CARES Fund has been created. The CAG has been weakened, but still there are reports detailing very significant fraudulent expenses in the Modi Government’s flagship schemes like Ayushman Bharat and PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana,” Ramesh said.
“In recent weeks, new evidence has emerged about the futility of the ‘na khaunga na khane doonga’ bomb; the massive ‘Chanda Chori Aastha Dhoka’ performed by members of the RSS-BJP ecosystem at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has shocked the conscience of the country,” he added.
The Congress general secretary in charge of communications emphasized that Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu remained in her post despite calling for a CBI probe into Supreme Court orders that allegedly benefited her family members over a period of ten years.
Moreover, according to Ramesh, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav continues to remain in office despite allegations that he has enriched his relatives through questionable land deals and transactions.
He also claimed that opposition parties were divided by various financial stimulus offers.
“A Minister of State in the Modi Government continues to hold office even though it has been proven beyond doubt that he received subsidies through a scheme run by his Ministry,” he alleged.
Four close aides of Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav were sacked overnight, Ramesh said, raising legitimate concerns about whether so much smoke could have gone up without a fire in the first place.
“Decisions regarding E20 are being taken to ensure huge benefits are provided to the family of the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways,” he said, referring to Nitin Gadkari.
He also mentioned Rekha Gupta, who claimed to have assumed the role of Delhi chief minister on her own, supported by evidence claiming that her family members were actively involved in administrative and governance matters.
The senior Congress leader also urged the prime minister to stand by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who, according to him, presides over a corrupt and compromising examination system that has betrayed the hopes and aspirations of millions of youth in the country.
