Congress appoints Rajendra Pal Gautam, Sanjay Dutt as AICC in-charge for UP, Haryana

On Friday, June 26, 2026, the Congress appointed party leaders Rajendra Pal Gautam and Sanjay Dutt as AICC in-charge of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

Mr Gautam replaced Avinash Pande in Uttar Pradesh, while Mr Dutt replaced senior party leader Hariprasad in Haryana.

Mr. Hariprasad has since become the new Karnataka Congress chief.

The party also appointed Lalji Desai as the new AICC in-charge of Odisha, replacing Ajay Kumar Lallu.

“The party appreciates the contributions of outgoing general secretary/in-charges Avinash Pande, BK Hariprasad and Ajay Kumar Lallu,” KC Venugopal said in a statement.

In another statement, the Congress announced the appointment of BV Srinivas as the new chief organizer of the Congress Seva Dal, replacing Lalji Desai.
