Congress government targeting RSS to divert public attention from its failures: BJP

Hitting out at the cabinet’s decision to “target RSS activities” by holding programs organized by private organizations at public places, BJP State chief BY Vijayendra on Thursday alleged that the Congress government was doing this only to divert public attention from its failures.

Mr. Vijayendra, in a social media post, alleged that the government had “unnecessarily targeted the RSS” and attacked it repeatedly only to cover up its own failures.

‘It will only grow’

He argued that the RSS network would only grow if the government subjected it to greater regulation.

Alleging that continuous efforts were being made to stop the growth of the RSS in the post-independence period, he said the RSS “has grown at a rapid pace as it has gained the approval of millions of people in the country due to its commitment to the task of nation-building”.

‘We left DyCM behind’

“The way Mr. Priyank Kharge has repeatedly attacked the RSS has made everyone wonder whether he is dreaming of surpassing Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar in the race for the chief ministerial post in the November revolution when the Congress is expected to see a change of leadership in Karnataka,” he said.

He alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had devised a strategy to use the Minister’s anti-RSS statements to portray Mr. Priyank Kharge as the right candidate to succeed him, at a time when Mr. Shivakumar had embarrassed his party’s top brass by singing the Sangh anthem in the Assembly and attending a program of Esha Foundation along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
