Coorparoo Busy Bees childcare centre fined for letting 5yo boy escape

On Wednesday Judge Belinda Merrin ruled that Busy Bees in Coorparoo had put the five-year-old boy at significant risk due to errors made by staff and management.

He said the boy was particularly vulnerable because of past escape attempts and ordered the center to pay a $12,500 fine to the Department of Education.

The center was also ordered to cover the state’s legal costs, bringing the total amount awarded by the courts to $14,605.
