Cop allegedly hit by van following alleged home invasion in Sydney’s inner-west

A police officer was allegedly hit by a van following an alleged home invasion in Sydney’s inner west.
Two men allegedly broke into a house on Crystal Street in Petersham at around 2am on Saturday.
The 31-year-old resident told police the men claimed they held one of the residents before ransacking the house and leaving neighboring gardens.
He was not injured.
Police allege a white van hit a male police sergeant as it drove away from the scene.
The police officer was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where scans revealed no serious injuries.
The white van was found by police a short time later in Trafalgar Street, Petersham.
When the driver allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit was launched and extra resources from Burwood Police, the Canine Unit and PolAir were called.
The van eventually stopped at Henley Park on Mitchell Street in Croydon Park.
The 39-year-old driver was arrested after a short chase on foot, while the 41-year-old passenger was arrested after he was found hiding under the car.
Both men were hit with a number of charges, including careless driving, failure to stop and render aid after a collision, causing injury.
and attempted aggravated dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm.
They were refused bail in return for an appearance before the Bail Division Court on Sunday.
