Teens charged with felony assault, hate crimes in Simi Valley movie theater parking lot attacks

Authorities said on Friday that five young people were allegedly attacked in the parking lot of Simi Valley Cinema Hall and said that they were facing severe crimes, including attack and hate crimes.

According to Ventura District Prosecutor’s Office, the incident occurred on August 2 shortly after midnight on the Tapo Canyon Road in the regal cinema parking lot. Authorities, young people attacked at least three victims, he said. Both of the young people are accused of a separate change at the same party on May 30th.

Among the suspects are 17 -year -old three and two children. Their names were not released because they are small.

Robinson said he was trying to escape, and then the group tried to defend himself with a chair as he besieged him and swear.

“They still caught me, and when they caught me, they decided that they would put my head in the garbage box and they continued to hit my head, Rob Robinson said.

The attack left Robinson with a shaking, cutting, bruises and a chipped tooth. He said he didn’t recognize any of the attackers. After Robinson and his mother reported the attack, a criminal investigation was launched.

Four of the young people were arrested on August 3. Later, a fifth suspect was identified. According to the department that says that the officer was not involved in the investigation, one of the young people is the son of the police officer.

On October 3, the Regional Prosecutor’s Office announced charges against all five children:

Three young people were accused of criminal attack, which was likely to produce major physical injury, and made a special claim on hate crime. A teenager is facing the same heavy attack, along with the blame criminal threats and misdemeanor. The fifth teenager was accused of criminal threats and misdemeanor.

Regional lawyer Erik Nasarenko said in a statement, “Hate crimes spread fear, division and violence in a whole society.” He said. “Our office is determined to hold these young people responsible and to ensure the delivery of justice for victims and community.”

Five young people are planned to be held on October 10 at the Ventura County Children’s Justice Center in Oxnard.
