New Delhi: A court in Delhi on Saturday released Congress leader Alka Lamba on one-year good behavior probation in the case in which she was found guilty of assaulting police personnel during a protest at Jantar Mantar in 2024.
Additional Chief Justice Ashwani Panwar directed Lamba, who heads the Mahila Congress, the women’s wing of the party, to provide a bond of Rs one lakh.
Detailed order is awaited.
On May 25, the court convicted him for ignoring prohibitory orders and failing to fulfill his duty as a responsible citizen.
During the discussions regarding the sentence, Lamba requested release on probation for good behavior.
The court found Lamba guilty of preventing public officials from performing their duties, attacking officials, disobeying published orders and causing obstruction of public roads.
