Prosecutors at Tyler Robinson’s pretrial hearing presented video evidence that the alleged assassin turned himself into police.
The video shows Robinson wearing a burgundy shirt. jeans and a hat in a room at the Washington County Sheriff’s office on September 11, 2025, one day after he allegedly shot and killed Charlie Kirk.
Later this week, prosecutors are expected to release a video interview with Lance Twiggs, the alleged assassin’s trans lover.
Twiggs will not testify in person during the weeklong hearings, but prosecutors have said they plan to introduce the key witness’s recorded statement into evidence.
It’s unclear when Twiggs’ video testimony will be presented to the court, but the interview was introduced into evidence earlier this year.
In pivotal pretrial hearings that began Monday, prosecutors set the stage for the highly publicized case as they sought to prove probable cause to bring the 23-year-old Robinson to trial.
On Tuesday evening, prosecutors filed an FBI report linking Robinson’s DNA to the towel and screwdriver; That report also included the DNA of Twiggs, his transgender girlfriend and roommate, on the items.
But defense attorneys spent more than three hours Tuesday casting doubt on the findings in court.

The court showed footage showing the moment Robinson surrendered
Prosecutors released footage of Tyler Robinson surrendering while questioning Utah State Bureau of Investigation Agent Brian Davis.
Robinson arrived at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office with his parents and a family friend, Davis said.
The agent also added that he was one of the investigators who interviewed Robinson’s mother.
Judge rules may play Lance Twiggs video with editing
Judge Tony Graf ruled that video testimony from Tyler Robinson’s transgender girlfriend, Lance Twiggs, can be played in court.
During a long recess, the judge reviewed the footage and the corrections suggested by the defense.
‘Sometimes it takes time to save time,’ Graf said when court resumed.
He said the prosecution may release video of Twiggs’ testimony except for about 1 minute and 20 seconds.
It’s unclear when the video will be played, but Graf gave the prosecutor’s office the opportunity to edit that portion of the clip.

The court granted Judge Tony Graf a brief recess to review the defense’s proposed corrections to Lance Twiggs’ testimony.
Lawyers argue over Lance Twiggs’ testimony
Prosecutors and defense attorneys are wrangling over video testimony from Lance Twiggs, Tyler Robinson’s transgender girlfriend and roommate.
Twiggs was interviewed on September 12, the day after Robinson surrendered, and then again on April 20.
State Bureau of Investigation Agent Brian Davis said Twiggs was granted “use immunity” for his statements, meaning prosecutors agreed not to use them against him.
Tyler Robinson wore braces for his trans girlfriend’s statement
Prosecutors are expected to present an exhibit showing the recorded testimony of Lance Twiggs, Tyler Robinson’s transgender girlfriend and roommate.
It’s unclear when Twiggs’ video testimony will be presented to the court, but prosecutors included it in a list of evidence presented earlier this year.
Prosecutors are also said to be presenting an exhibit that includes a photograph of a ‘burnt note from the apartment’.
On Wednesday, Robinson’s defense attorneys raised concerns about a 22-page transcript of the video that has not yet been presented to the court.
‘We submitted correction recommendations to the state about a day and a half ago, because we believe some parts of it were unacceptable even at the preliminary hearing,’ the defense lawyer said.
Prosecutors said they planned to release that video today, and the judge agreed to address the defense’s concerns when the issue arose.

Tyler Robinson stared straight ahead as he was greeted by the judge on the third day of his pretrial hearing.
The judge reminded the lawyers that the hearing will end on Friday
Judge Tony Graf began today’s hearing by reminding the prosecution and defense that the preliminary hearing is scheduled to end at 5 pm MT on Friday.
He then asked the lawyers to brief him on the remaining witnesses they would present.
Prosecutors said they will call Utah State Bureau of Investigation Agent Brian Davis to testify today and may put Utah Public Safety Sergeant Jennifer Faumuina back on the stand.
Faumunia’s testimony will likely extend until Thursday, after which the prosecution’s presentation will be completed.
The defense team plans to call the remaining two witnesses from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
Tyler Robinson was brought to court in an armored vehicle
According to Fox News, Tyler Robinson, the alleged assassin of Charlie Kirk, was brought to court in an armored vehicle on the third day.
Robinson, 23, faces the possibility of the death penalty if convicted of killing Kirk at the Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, 2025.
He has remained in custody in Utah since then, and a judge will decide whether prosecutors have enough evidence to bring him to trial this week.
Robinson did not enter a defense.
