During a cricket match in Pakistan’s northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a tragic explosion died, one person died, and several people were injured, including children. The incident occurred on Saturday, referring to local authorities, according to Dawn, Kausar Crick Cricket Ground in Khar Tehsil in the Bajaur Region.

Bajaur region police officer Waqas Rafique confirmed that the explosion was an improvised explosive device (IED). “It was an explosion -targeted attack,” he said.

Authorities reported that the wounded were immediately transferred to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Although no group has yet to take responsibility for the incident, the situation increased when suspicious militants started a separate attack on a local police station. However, the initiative could not reach its goal.

Investigations continue as the security forces tighten the measures in the region following the attack.
