According to Thailand Fire and Rescue, a large number of volunteer rescue units descended on the scene of the accident, which occurred at around 10:30 local time on Wednesday morning.

Rescue units from Hook 31 Nakhon Ratchasima, Phromtham Sikhiu Rescue, Sawangwicha Pak Chong Rescue and Sung Noen Rescue were on hand to assist emergency crews.

Using ‘jaws of life’ hydraulic cutters, some passengers were rescued from the train wreck and several were taken to local hospitals.

That Post reported that the injured were taken to hospitals, including Sikhiu Hospital, Sung Noen Hospital and Maharaj Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital.
