Cristiano Ronaldo makes history as he becomes the FIRST male footballer to score in six different World Cups – after breaking deadlock vs Uzbekistan

Cristiano Ronaldo silenced some of his World Cup critics by making history in Portugal’s clash with Uzbekistan.

Ronaldo scored the opening goal of the Group K match on Tuesday with a shot on target from inside the penalty area.

In doing so, he became the first male footballer to score in six different World Cups, further cementing his legacy as one of the sport’s greats.

The 41-year-old player was at the center of Portugal’s second goal. Nuno Mendes doubled the lead with a free kick on goal, but to the surprise of Uzbekistan and most viewers, Ronaldo stepped aside as he prepared to shoot himself.

Ronaldo got his second shortly afterwards, scoring a brilliant finish to make it 3-0 after Bruno Fernandes’ pinpoint strike.

It was his 145th goal for his country and his 10th goal in the World Cup.
