A cryptocurrency millionaire was killed after £329,000 of his money overturned on the motorway and burst into flames. Alexei Dolgikh, 36, was driving three friends in his luxury Lamborghini Urus when he lost control and crashed into a barrier in Moscow. The car hit the busy road at 1.30pm local time and burst into flames with a terrible explosion.

Photos showing wads of cash scattered along the highway. Dolgikh died instantly, along with one of his passengers, Ivan Solovyov. 21-year-old Nikita Tezikov and 22-year-old Kirill Mochalov were hospitalized with injuries but survived.

While it was confirmed by the State Traffic Inspectorate that Dolgikh lost control by hitting the barrier and the vehicle rolled over, the reason for this is being investigated.

The Moscow Prosecutor’s Office said: “According to preliminary information, at midnight on the International Highway the driver of the Lamborghini hit an obstacle, after which the vehicle rolled over and caught fire.

“As a result of the accident, 2 young people lost their lives and 2 young people were hospitalized with injuries.

“One of the victims had an open fracture in his leg, the second had multiple fractures. He was taken to the Botkin hospital. The causes and all the circumstances of the accident are being tried to be clarified.”

In recent months, Dolgikh has reportedly been blacklisted by Russian banks “due to suspicions of money laundering.”

According to local media reports, just 15 months after owning the Lamborghini, he collected a staggering 586 units; Most of these were for speeding.
