Cyberabad Officials Inspect Storm Water Drain Works in IT Corridor

They visited FDDI box drain, Malkam Cheruvu, COD junction and BATA junction to review the progress of stormwater drainage works.

Both Ramesh and Srijana asked the authorities to construct catch pits with rectangular channel cross-section near low-lying areas in FDDI, install MS grates on catch pits at COD junction, replace RCC catch pit covers in front of Bawarchi restaurant with MS grates and also re-arrange the existing stormwater drainage from MK Eternal mall to Bata Nala with a box culvert.

Officials studied the feasibility of shifting overhead electrical cables to subway column supports along the subway corridor. The Commissioner instructed the relevant units to carry out the work in a coordinated manner and complete it within the specified periods.

Earlier, as a part of vector control measures, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) conducted Anti-Larval Operations (ALO) across the Corporation to prevent mosquito breeding.

A total of 3,835 houses were inspected, including 910 houses in Serilingampally district, 698 houses in Kukatpally district and 2,227 houses in Quthbullapur district. City staff conducted house-to-house surveys to identify mosquito breeding sources; inspected overhead tanks, hoppers, drums, coolers, and other water-holding containers.

Staff treated larvae at designated breeding sources, removed standing water from containers and surrounding facilities, and raised public awareness about mosquito breeding prevention in and around homes.

These activities were carried out by CMC field teams as part of the company’s ongoing public health and vector control measures.
