Dad charged with 2020 murder of one-month-old son | UK | News

A man is due to appear in court accused of murdering a baby in 2020. Niall Worsfold, 29, is accused of murdering his son, who was just one month old, after the incident at an address in Leeds.

He was also charged with one count of cruelty to children. The baby was taken to hospital from Lincombe Drive, Gledhow, on 4 July 2020 and sadly died on 10 July.

A 25-year-old woman was also arrested as part of an investigation by West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Investigation Squad detectives, but was later released without further action.

In a statement on July 8, West Yorkshire Police said: “A man is expected to appear in court accused of murdering a baby in Leeds in 2020.

“Niall Worsfold, 29, of Farrow Road, Leeds, is accused of murdering his boy, who was one month old at the time.

“The baby died in hospital on 10 July 2020 after being removed from an address in Lincombe Drive, Gledhow, on 4 July 2020.

“Worsfold was also charged with a charge of cruelty to children. He was remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

“The 25-year-old woman, who was arrested as part of the investigation carried out by West Yorkshire Police Homicide Squad and Major Investigation Team detectives, was released without further action.”
