Dangerous intersection outside Wichita to become four-way stop
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — An intersection near Wichita is getting a much-needed upgrade after it was deemed dangerous.
Sedgwick County commissioners approved a four-way stop at the intersection of West 29th and North 135th streets.

This change comes two months after a crash that killed 42-year-old Wichita woman Tiffany M. Jones and seriously injured a 26-year-old Egyptian woman and her three children. He died in the accident that occurred at the same intersection. Sedgwick County Deputy Sidnee Carter In 2022.
In August, the county took extra precautions to improve safety by increasing the size of stop signs from 36 inches to 48 inches.
As of Aug. 18, there have been 16 crashes at this intersection in the past five years, police said.
County commissioners hope this change could limit the number of crashes and improve community safety.
