Darron Lee: Ex-NFL player charged with murdering girlfriend

The victim’s name will be withheld until next of kin are notified.

Lee, who was the first-round draft pick of the New York Jets in 2016, last played in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills in 2020.

His four-year contract with the Jets was cut short one year in 2019 when he left the team due to disciplinary issues and poor form.

Although Lee did not appear in the game, he was part of the Kansas City Chiefs squad that won the Super Bowl in 2020.

He signed with the Las Vegas Raiders in June 2021 but did not play until his release two months later.

Lee was arrested in 2023 for assault and domestic violence. The man “pushed a woman against a wall, threw her to the ground, and struck her in the face and head eight to nine times with his closed fists,” the arrest report said.
