Former Queensland Police Union boss, Cross Border Commissioner, Ian Leavers found dead

Queensland Transnational Commissioner and former police union boss Ian Leavers has been found dead.

A Queensland Police Service (QPS) spokesman said police were called to the scene of an unsuspicious death at Mount Ommaney at around 9.50am on Monday.

“Police investigations into this matter are continuing,” the spokesman said.

Mr Leavers was a member of the QPS for over 35 years and served as a general duties officer in multiple branches including the Criminal Investigation Branch, Children’s Aid Bureau, Operational Skills Instructor, Traffic Branch and Accident Investigation Team.
