EFL postponements: Sheffield United v Oxford United among several games off

Sunday’s Championship match between Sheffield United and Oxford United is one of several EFL matches postponed due to freezing pitches.

Seven matches were canceled in the Second League and two more matches in the First League fell into freezing weather.

The Blades said in a statement that a referee looked at the Bramall Lane pitch before the scheduled 12:00 GMT kick-off and found parts of the playing surface frozen.

In League One, Doncaster’s matches against Luton and Rotherham against Mansfield were also canceled on Sunday.

In addition to five of Sunday’s League Two fixtures being postponed on Saturday, Colchester v Accrington and Newport v Tranmere failed their pitch inspections.
