Death Toll Reaches 257 in Himachal Monsoon Fury

Shimla: According to Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (HP SDMA), Monsoon destruction in Himachal Pradesh has been 257 lives since June 20. Data throughout the region show that Mandi (26 deaths), Kangra (28) and Kullu (11) are among the worst affected disasters triggered in rain.

HPSDMA said only the Mandi region explained the heaviest financial damage and exceeded 1.180 RS, and followed by Kangra and Kullu regions.

In the meantime, the Mandi region, 203 road blocked and 458 transformers reported the highest deterioration with the removal of the service, followed by a large landslide in Jhed (Kanag) NH-305, including 79 roads were closed. Water supply schemes were also seriously affected in Chamba (24), Kangra (41) and Mandi (44).

In Kinnaur, six roads, including NH-5, were blocked after heavy downpour, while Kullu and cahaul-Spiti reported widespread interruptions due to flash floods and HT line errors.
