Debate rages about best time for Christmas tree trimming as Americans sound off

Since it’s starting to look a lot like Christmas, many Americans are already debating the appropriate time to cut down their trees.
California-based artificial tree company Balsam Hill has published its own guide on the “best time” to put up Christmas trees.
“It’s still a matter of preference, but many people choose to put up their trees right after Thanksgiving, signaling the transition into the Christmas season,” the company says.

The report adds: “The most common period is any time [from] “From the end of November to the first week of December.”
Balsam Hill notes that some people may enjoy planting trees in mid-November to kick off the festive season.

“You can try incorporating your Christmas tree into your Thanksgiving decorations,” she says. “But for live trees, wait until the first week of December.”
Alison Cheperdak, founder of Elevate Etiquette in Washington, D.C., told Fox News Digital that it’s best not to rush into Christmas but enjoy “each celebration as it comes.”

“The appropriate timing depends on whether you are hosting Thanksgiving,” he said.
“If so, you’ll want to wait to decorate for Christmas to let the Thanksgiving holiday have its moment.”

She added: “If you’re not hosting or traveling or want to cross decking hallways off your list, it’s perfectly fine to get your decor ready sooner. Wait to turn on all the lights and save your home’s exterior decorations for after Thanksgiving.”
