Delhi CM distributes ex gratia of ₹1 crore to families of 11 Corona Warriors

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday, October 11, 2025, gave an additional gift of ₹ 1 crore each to the families of 11 Corona warriors.
Delhi’s frontline workers remained committed to their duties, risking their lives when everything came to a halt during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Gupta said in a post on X Corp (formerly Twitter Inc.).
“This sense of service and dedication saved thousands of lives. The Delhi government stands with the families of the Karmyogis who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty and fulfilled their responsibilities,” Ms. Gupta said.
Interacting with the family members of the deceased Corona warriors, Ms. Gupta promised them help from the Delhi government in the future while handing over the bad amount of checks.
On Wednesday, October 1, 2025, the BJP-led government announced an ex gratia payment of ₹ 1 crore per person to the families of employees who lost their lives while performing their duties during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A group comprising Delhi cabinet ministers Ashish Sood, Kapil Mishra and Pankaj Kumar Singh was formed in June to expedite the payment process.
