Delhi CM Rekha Gupta to move SC to allow green firecrackers on Diwali, says, ‘Govt will…’

Delhi Prime Minister Rekha Gupta said on Monday to allow the Delhi government to allow the use of green fireworks during Diwali. “We will call on the high court to allow the use of green fireworks for Diwali.”
The Prime Minister also said that all green fireworks should be produced by authorized institutions approved by the relevant authorities and provided full cooperation with any directive given by the court. CM GUPTA, “Delhi government, the government will take responsibility for pollution seriously and will fulfill this will express in writing, and everyone should be allowed to use a green cracker at this festival … The government should be allowed to use a green cracker in this festival and the government will demand a written green fire.” He said.

‘Any cracker’ sale in Delhi-ncr
In September 2025, the Supreme Court banned the sale of any cracker, including green crackers in Delhi-NCR. Meanwhile, the court allowed green crackers to continue their production.
