Russian drone attack was ‘no mistake’, Poland says

Prime Minister Donald TUSK, US President Donald Trump’s suggestion that the incident may be an accidental, Poland’s drone attacks from the airspace was not a mistake by Russia, he said.

“We also wish that the drone attack on Poland would be an error. But it wasn’t.” He said.

On Wednesday, Poland, with the support of military aircraft from NATO allies, dropped drones in the airspace, a member of the Western military alliance is known to have fired for the first time during the war in Ukraine.

Early on Friday, Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk commented on Trump’s interpretation.

“I think this is a message that he had to reach to President Trump today: this was a deliberate Russian attack.”

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, who visited Kiev on Friday, responded to Trump’s words.

In a video published in X, “19 Russian plane went to Poland at the night 400 (drone) plus 40 missiles went to Ukraine. These were not mistakes.” He said.

Upon the request of Poland, the UN Security Council will meet in New York on Friday. Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the meeting will start in 1500 local hours.
