Delhi Speaker Gets ‘Z’ Security After Threats

New Delhi: The Delhi Assembly speaker has been provided Z-category security cover in view of bomb threat emails that the legislature has received repeatedly over the last few weeks, an official statement said. The move comes in the wake of a series of targeted bomb threats and recent high-profile file security breaches, the Delhi Assembly Secretariat said. The secretary’s office and the speaker’s office have received approximately six to seven threatening emails since the budget meeting began on March 23. There was also a recent incident on April 6, when a man drove his car into the Parliament building.
