Bengal CEO, officials train 4,600 micro observers

The training was given to around 4,600 micro observers from various central institutions and banks. “The maximum daily hearing limit is 150. It may be less than 70-100,” he said. Special notification will be sent only to those who need to hear it,” Special Rolls Observer Subrata Gupta said. he said.
Meanwhile, the Calcutta High Court directed the ECI to clarify whether OBC certificates issued after 2010 will be considered valid documents as the court had earlier invalidated them.
“The petitioner in the present writ petition has made a representation to the Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner of the Election Commission of India as well as the Chief Electoral Officer of the State Election Commission of West Bengal, requesting that the matter be taken up with all seriousness at the earliest…directing the officers/agents/men not to accept such invalid OBC certificates in the State of West Bengal as documents for claiming entry into the soon to be revised electoral rolls,” the order said.
The lawyer appearing on behalf of ECI submitted before the HC that “the matter regarding the validity of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is pending before the Hon’ble Supreme Court and no decision can be passed in the present writ petition.”
The HC directed the West Bengal CEO to “take cognizance of the representation submitted by the petitioner on December 4, 2025 and issue a reasoned speaking order and communicate the same to the petitioner within one week from the date of receipt of such order.”
