The Melbourne Hanukkah celebration that became a memorial

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has described the targeted antisemitic attack on the Chanukah By The Sea festival at Sydney’s Bondi Beach on Sunday (December 14) as “an act of pure evil, an act of terrorism, an act of antisemitism, an act of terrorism, an act of antisemitism”. [and] “An attack targeting the Jewish community on the first day of Hanukkah,” he said.
Many Jewish events have been canceled across Australia following the attack, which left fifteen people dead, including a 10-year-old boy and a Holocaust survivor, and hospitalized a further 29 victims.
