Market Sunrise Exclusive: Synthesia

00:00 Brian Sozzi

Nvidia, Wednesday after the closing bell after the three -month earnings report this week will take the center. A company that he supports is London -based AI startup Synthesia. It uses AI to create realistic video avatars based on people who can be deployed in various scenarios, including customer support, sales and personnel training. I talked to CEO and its founder Victor Riparbelli.

00:25 Victor Riparbelli

Synthesia is the world’s largest AI video platform for businesses. And really, what we do is very simple. It is very important in 2025, big and small, we help to communicate in the video, right? People want to watch and listen to their content. They don’t want to read as much as it used to. And it is only table bets that you can communicate with in the video today. Now, instead of running with cameras, actors, studios and microphones, we usually do all this with AI with the synthesia platform. So it’s like making a powerpoint deck. You go in, you choose one of these avatars, you create one of yourself, then you write your script, you write the rest of your video with some kind of arrangement, and then you have a video ready to go. What we see that people have been using it so far is everything from product marketing videos, customer support, internal education, sales activation and a lot of other use of other use, but the aim is to train or share a kind of message, and they want to do it in the video.

Now, I know you’ve been working hard on translation lately. Can you explain exactly what you do and how to work?

02:13 Victor Riparbelli

Yes, we have another product called AI Dublaj. A AI dubbing is essentially a real video, so that any video can be recorded at any time. You put it in our system and you know this video in French, Mandarin, you know, Spanish, you want to want your heart, regardless of the language you want. And we’re going to shoot the video, cloning the sound in the video, and changing the lip synchronization, so you’re talking in a different language without doing anything. Thus, it protects the tone of your voice. Actually, you speak in a different language. And it is actually a single -click process. This is really popular for companies for all the videos they have created for a global audience instantly for a global audience.

03:28 Brian Sozzi

Now, you’ve talked about Avatars before and I know you’re working on a new generation Avatar, but it’s actually how useful for work?

03:41 Victor Riparbelli

Very useful. I think everyone who participates in a corporate video, even if they seem very simple, I think that most people can empathize with some kind of pain. The entire production process of installing cameras requires a lot of time and money, and then, often, if you are a manager, you need to make your lines 15 times, because you know, you can’t remember them, or you don’t feel that you say correctly. Everything here is much easier. We’re just writing. And what we see is that when the productivity gain type is on a scale of 100x to 1,000x, you can make a video because you can never make a video before? And many of our customers do it, you know. You get customer support. Most companies have a large number of text articles that help customers answer the questions that customers can have. We’ve seen it over and over again, if you get all these text articles, you can convert them into videos, people can serve much higher service. We work with a really big bank in London, where the call deviation rate only increases by adding video to this information base, and it saves tons of money in terms of this call center, right? So there are many of these situations, it is very easy to create a video because we open the lock.

Now, this is a question I ask many business leaders in the field of AI. Most of the time, if your products are as good as you think, your products can lead to loss of business. Is that true?

06:14 Victor Riparbelli

I think new technology waves always change the labor market, right? And I think that being a camera operator in 10 or 15 years is not as valuable as it is today. But I think no matter how much we get, I think people are still incredibly important as part of a job. So I think things will change, maybe a short -term displacement, but I’m not in the camp of people who think that everything will love a radical change in the next three or four years. I think people take quite a long time for companies to integrate these technologies. Most of these technologies are not yet good to replace someone. And I think I think what will happen before. Perhaps if you are an employer and use representatives to scan people instead of young candidates, perhaps an employer may have 100 calls for five calls with candidates, and then sit down to find out who the young employer is the right person for this job? I don’t think I don’t think it, I think it is very simple to assume that AI can do customer support, that these things will only disappear in some way.

08:11 Brian Sozzi

And lately, perhaps we’re a lot of noise about AI Hype is overly swollen. What is your answer to this?

08:25 Victor Riparbelli

I think there is definitely a lot of hype and I think there are many companies that get too many funds that will definitely go anywhere. But on the other hand, it is very real, very real, right? AI will transform everything we know about how we work, we live and play. This is not virtual reality and metavers, but it didn’t really have much effect in the real world, where everything is fine. I think it’s very clear if you just look at the people you know around you? How many people use Chatgpt as part of their jobs or just as part of their daily lives? The value is very real. The fact that these new technologies often come to society and integrated are that there are tons of money blown to many different companies. Many of them will be dying, but there will be a few of them, and they will really create value and change the world, right? And I think this is as real as the mobile explosion we saw 10, 10 years ago. The Internet 20, 30 years ago is real and real as computers when they were first invented. It is definitely one of the waves that will hold water. However, in the short term, I think there will be many investors who have lost a lot of money.

10:01 Brian Sozzi

So, Victor, previously, when you invested, your company was worth $ 2.1 billion. Nvidia is one of your supporters. Adobe also made a new investment. So where is the next for synthesia?

10:15 Victor Riparbelli

For us, you know, our basic business is really growing rapidly. We announced a few months ago that we exceed 100 million ARR. We grow 100% annually. We work with more than 80% of Fortune 100. So there is a lot of innovation for us right now. We start our vehicle very soon, so you can talk with the video instead of just watching videos. For example, if you are watching a training video, you can be tested in real time by the video to make sure you really understand this content. And there are still many innovations that are still still, but at the same time, on this scale, it is about getting off all the customers we want to work with, helping them to succeed, and expanding our contract dimensions. I think, you know, we are not in the chatter of this market where everyone plays while trying to understand what everyone works. There is a very real value directed by our customers and our product. And of course, there is a large scaling game that works in parallel with tons of innovations on the basic products and offers we have.
