Dennis Hopper’s ghost returned to haunt his ex-wife Katherine LaNasa

Dennis Hopper’s ghost returned to haunt his ex-wife Katherine LaNasa after his death.

The Pitt star was married to the Hollywood actor between 1989 and 1992, and although they had been divorced for 18 years, she believes Hopper followed her from beyond the grave after he passed away in 2010 at the age of 74.

LaNasa told W magazine: “I believe in ghosts. Dennis Hopper’s ghost won’t leave me alone for a very long time. We’ve been divorced for a very long time, but I was the last partner he was with and he wasn’t getting a divorce right now, so I guess maybe that level of intimacy when you’re dying is something you can do with a partner?”

Hopper was married five times in total and was in the process of divorcing his fifth wife, Victoria Duffy, at the time of his death.

LaNasa, who plays Nurse Dana Evans in HBO Max’s medical drama The Pitt, revealed that she was horrified after a special encounter with the spirit of her deceased ex-husband:

“One time he looked like he did at the Academy Awards; he was in a wheelchair and it was so sad. I told him he should leave me alone,” she told the publication.

The actress added: “He would come up to me covered in sweat and I would tell him he should leave me alone, and then he did. Then I felt really weird about it.”

LaNasa revealed that her ex had finally sent her a sign that he would no longer haunt her.

He explained: “And then the day I told someone how weird I felt about it, I walked home the weird way and ran into a gallery where all his photos were on display, and at the very back of the gallery was a photo of him with his fedora winking at the camera… [I felt it meant he was] let me go.”

However, Hopper returned to visit her in her dreams once again.

She said: “We were both in a cafeteria in Greece and he told me he was fine, he wasn’t in pain anymore and he was fine.

“And I never heard from him again.”
