Departing US ambassador Rudd’s email to embassy staff revealed

Kevin Rudd left his post as Australia’s ambassador to Washington and completed his term this week. But in a note to colleagues, the former prime minister said: “You haven’t quite gotten rid of me yet.”

In Rudd’s own words, his time at the embassy was filled with proud achievements.

“I want to thank each and every one of you for your hard work, professionalism and friendship over the last three years,” Rudd wrote in a Jan. 12 email to colleagues with the subject line “A personal note from me.”
