Bihar steps up AgriStack drive, sets Jan deadline for Jamabandi verification

New Delhi: Aiming to accelerate the progress of farmers’ registration under the AgriStack project, Bihar’s Revenue and Land Reforms Department has laid special emphasis on completing verification of “bucket claims” and “Jamabandi” (land records) across the state.

The ministry issued an order assigning district-wise responsibilities to senior officials who are also responsible for field supervision.

While the first phase of the special campaign, which started on January 6, ends today, the second phase will start on January 18 and continue until January 21, according to the decision taken at the AgriStack Steering Committee meeting held on December 30, 2025.
The aim of the campaign is to ensure fast, accurate and transparent verification of farmers’ land records.

To ensure that the campaign progresses at an appropriate pace, the Revenue Administration has appointed 15 senior officials to various districts. Consolidation Director Rakesh Kumar has been appointed in charge of Madhepura, Supaul and Saharsa districts. Special Secretary Arun Kumar Singh will oversee the campaign in Rohtas, Kaimur and Buxar districts. Kamlesh Kumar Singh, Director, Land Acquisition, has been appointed in charge of East and West Champaran districts.


Additional Secretary Dr. Mahendra Pal was appointed in charge of Purnia, Kishanganj, Araria and Katihar districts; Deputy Director and Additional Secretary Mr. Ajeev Vatsraj has been appointed in charge of Darbhanga and Samastipur districts. Special Officer Mr. Manibhushan Kishore will inspect Begusarai and Khagaria districts. Meanwhile, Special Officer Ms. Sudha Rani was given the charge of Saran and Gaya districts.
Ms. Mona Jha, Deputy Director, Bihar Investigation Office, Gulzarbagh, Patna, has been appointed in charge of Patna and Jehanabad districts. Deputy Minister Dr. Sunil Kumar will oversee the work in Bhagalpur, Munger and Banka districts. Deputy Minister Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh will oversee the progress of the campaign in Gopalganj and Siwan districts.

As per the ministry’s instructions, all appointed officers will be present at their allocated regional centers from January 07 to 10 and will monitor the verification of farmers’ Jamabandi demands through the camps and ensure 100% target achievement.
