Dharmendra’s prayer meet titled Celebration of Life to be organised by Deol family; check date, time, venue here

Dharmendra’s prayer meeting will be held on November 27 at Taj Lands End in Bandra, Mumbai. The veteran superstar passed away on November 24 at the age of 89.

Veteran superstar Dharmendra breathed his last on November 24 at the age of 89. He was quietly cremated at the Pawan Hans Crematorium on Monday as scores of Bollywood celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh and others, paid their last respects to the late star at his funeral. Many actors including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Saif Ali Khan, Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan and Varun Dhawan visited the bereaved family to offer their condolences in the last two days.

The Deol family is organizing Dharmendra’s prayer meeting on Thursday as per the invitation issued by them. The invitation, titled Celebration of Life Instead of Prayer Gathering, features a young photograph of the superstar and states that the event will take place on November 27 between 5pm and 7.30pm at the Taj Lands End in Bandra, Mumbai. According to reports, Sonu Nigam will sing beautiful songs featuring Dharmendra to celebrate him.

Nicknamed the ‘He-Man’ of Bollywood, Dharmendra made his acting debut in the 1960 film Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere and has given iconic performances in classics and commercially acclaimed films such as Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Ankhen, Pratiggya, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Phool Aur Patthar, Seeta Aur Geeta, Satyakam, Life In A Metro and Rocky Aur Rani. Kii Prem Kahaani for six decades.

Dharmendra is survived by his two wives (Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini) and six children (Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Ajeeta Deol, Vijeta Deol, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol). The late superstar will be seen on screen for the last time in the upcoming period war drama Ikkis, which is scheduled to hit theaters on December 25, in time for Christmas.

Ikkis is based on the life of Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, who was posthumously awarded India’s highest military decoration, the Param Vir Chakra, after sacrificing his life at the age of 21 during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. While Agastya Nanda will play Arun Khetarpal, Dharmendra will play Arun’s father Brigadier ML Khetarpal, who is also serving in the Indian Army.
