The Cattle Corner: Perth Royal Show kicks off in two weeks with a new interactive exhibit inside Cattle Lane

When only 14 days stay until the doors are opened, this year’s buzzing builds Perth The Royal Show-and a fan favorite is ready to return to the spotlight on the cattle lane.

The cute, hairy hair plateau cows will return and ready for pats and scratches worth year.

Nathan Perry, a second generation Highland Cattle breeder, returns with its famous Highland cows for his 10th anniversary.

Mr. Perry runs 13 plateau cattle on his property near serpentine and Wa Australian Plateau Cattle Representative.

“My father Trevor Perry began to endure 38 years ago,” he said.

“I started to show cattle at a mature age at the age of six, and in 2015 I was the first breeder showing the plateaus at the Perth Royal Show.”

According to Mr. Perry, these fluffy cattle are like “therapy” thanks to their cute and dog -like nature.

“They are very, very unique breed,” he said.

“They look cute, fluffy, very curious, very friendly, they love people to explode, they love carrots and very accessible cows.

“Very, very loving and cute.

“For many people, Highland cows are like therapy. Like big dogs.”

The cattle lane has a cattle corner that started for the first time this year.

This new exhibition will offer practical learning experiences, including clipping shows and a calf screen.

Visitors can learn how to grow cattle, what they eat, and how the beef industry supports local communities and food systems.

“It is a really great opportunity for the city to meet the country and to do something that people cannot normally do,” he said.

The cattle corner is part of the long -term commitment of the show to agricultural education, and inspires the new generation of small WA farmers.
