Police resume desperate search for missing woman last seen north of Menzies in the Goldfields on Friday

Police have resumed a desperate search for a 24-year-old woman who went missing in the Goldfields, north of Menzies, on Friday.

Crystal Johnston was last seen at 6.10pm on Friday when she left the car in which she was a passenger after stopping on the Goldfields Highway in the Jedda Mia Plains area, about 40km north of Menzies.

Leonora police have immediate welfare concerns for the woman, who does not have access to food, water or a mobile phone and may be in a remote location where services are limited.

Ms Johnston is described as approximately 165cm tall, of medium build, with shoulder-length brown hair and a green love heart tattoo on the right side of her face.

He was last seen wearing gray pants and a black shirt.

A co-ordinated, multi-agency off-road search and rescue operation was launched on Saturday involving officers from Leonora police station, supported by Laverton police.

Due to the remote location and difficult terrain, an Australian Maritime Safety Authority Challenger rescue jet was deployed from Perth to assist in the search throughout the night.

The search resumed on Monday when additional resources were dispatched, including a police drone from Kalgoorlie-Boulder and an onboard police observer.

Anyone who sees Ms Johnston or any motorist who picks her up is asked to call police immediately on 131 444.
