DHS condemns Texas Halloween display depicting hanging of ICE agents

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has called on “sanctuary politicians” to “tone down their rhetoric” against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers after a Halloween display depicting the hanging of agents emerged in Houston.
Located in the predominantly Hispanic Second Ward neighborhood of Houston, Texas, the exhibit features numerous mannequins. In the video, two figures dressed in red hats, black shirts, khaki pants and black masks are seen hanging with ropes around their necks from a wooden gallows with a Mexican flag on it.
“Statues of ICE agents dressed in black shirts and red hats with zippers in their pockets were hung on homemade gallows,” DHS said. he said. “The exhibit, surrounded by coffins, barbed wire, and topped with a Mexican flag, was a mock execution site.”
“Following a weekend in which domestic terrorists attacked federal law enforcement, the Department of Homeland Security is calling on asylum-seeking politicians and the media to tone down their rhetoric about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement law enforcement,” DHS said. he added. “Our officers are facing a more than 1,000% increase in attacks against them and their families are having their personal information compromised and threatened online.”

Homeland Security also condemned threats allegedly sent to families of ICE agents.
According to DHS, “An agent’s wife was sent the following message on Facebook by Robert Buckley of Lakeville, Massachusetts: ‘Your husband, the ICE man, is a f— and revenge will come to you eventually.’
“The wife of an ICE officer in Texas said, ‘I don’t know how you let your husband work for ICE and sleep at night. F— you, your f— family. I hope your kids get accidentally deported. How do you sleep? F— you. Have you heard about what happened to the Nazis after World War II? Because it’s going to happen to your family,” DHS added.

“Threats like these against our brave ICE law enforcement officers and their families are disgusting,” said DHS Deputy Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. he said.
McLaughlin continued: “These officers risk their lives every day to arrest murderers, pedophiles, rapists, terrorists and gang members in our communities. Comparing ICE every day to the Nazi Gestapo, Secret Police and slave patrols has consequences.”

“The men and women of ICE and CBP are fathers, mothers, sons and daughters. They get up every morning trying to make our communities safer. Like everyone else, they just want to go home to their families at night,” he said. “Violence and inhumane behavior against these men and women who are merely enforcing the law must end.”
