DHS Secretary Kristi Noem alleged ICE shooting victim was ‘stalking’ agents

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem claimed at a press conference Wednesday that the woman who was shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer had been “stalking and obstructing” agents all day.
Noem told reporters that ICE agents repeatedly instructed victim Renee Nicole Good, 37, to get out of her car and stop “obstructing” law enforcement, but she did not comply.
The agency described the incident as an act of “domestic terrorism.”
Video of the scene showed Good’s car in the middle of a residential street as ICE agents in a dark gray Nissan Titan truck got out and approached his vehicle.

Good was heard telling the agents to “go around,” and as they walked toward the Honda Pilot, an agent told him to “get out of the car.”
He then suddenly turns the tables and tries to escape before being shot.
Noem claimed the woman tried to “use a gun on her vehicle” and “tried to run over a law enforcement officer.”

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said Good was shot in the head and strongly disputed the agency’s claims of self-defense, calling them “bullshit.”
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz also said he saw video of the incident and told people not to believe DHS’s “propaganda machine” about the attack.
“The State will ensure a full, fair and expeditious investigation to ensure accountability and justice,” Walz said. he said.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are jointly handling the investigation, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara told reporters at a news conference Wednesday.

The shooting of US citizen Good has intensified divisions on Capitol Hill; Lawmakers clashed over the Trump administration’s immigration policy and ICE enforcement operations.
DHS said Monday it was deploying 2,000 law enforcement officers to the Twin Cities to arrest “crooks, murderers, rapists, and gang members.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) told reporters that ICE is “not accountable to anyone” and called for the agency to be “reined in.”
“We just saw them murder an American citizen in cold blood,” he said.

Vice President J.D. Vance said in X that ICE officers have the full support of the Trump administration.
“To the radicals who attacked, denounced and threatened them: Congratulations, we will work even harder to enforce the law,” he wrote.
