Diane Abbott on the brink of being kicked out of Labour yet again | Politics | News

The Labor Party suggested that Diane Abbott was on the verge of throwing again after insisting that he was next to his ‘aggressive’ comments about anti -Jewish racism. In a new BBC interview, Abbott, who served in Parliament for the longest time in Parliament, said he did not regret his statements in a letter to the observer newspaper in April 2023.
Ms. Abbott suggested that color people experience racism to Irish, Jewish and traveling communities differently and added that the second groups were not “all their lives” to racism. He then apologized and withdrew the statements, claiming that the letter was the first draft to be sent to the newspaper early. However, when asked whether the ordinary regret to see that he had been suspended from the Labor Party for a year today, “No, not at all.”
“Obviously, there must be a difference between racism about color and other types of racism because you can see a traveler or a Jewish people walking on the street, you don’t know.
“You don’t know unless you stop talking to them or you’re not at a meeting with them.
“But if you see a black person walking on the street, you will see that they are black. Different types of racism.”
When asked if he believed he did something wrong, Mrs. Abbott returned: “I think it’s stupid to claim that racism is the same as other types of racism.”
“I just … I don’t know why people will say that.”
A spokesman for a Labor Party spokesman who responded to the Bomb U-Turn about the apology, now suggested that Mrs. Abbott could be expelled from the party once again.
“There is no place for anti -Semitism in the Labor Party. We take these comments incredibly seriously and we will evaluate them in line with the rules and procedures of the Labor Party.”
Two years ago, Sir Keir clearly condemned his comments as “antisemitic”.
“In my opinion, what he said to be condemned was antisemitic. Diane Abbott has suffered a lot of racial abuse for many years… This is not far from condemning the words he uses and we should never accept the claim that racism is a kind of hierarchy.
“I will never accept this, the Labor Party will never accept it, and that’s why we acted fast as we did yesterday.”
Mrs. Abbott chose a risky moment to challenge the heart change to Sir Keir Starmer after the suspension of four labor force deputies yesterday.
In addition, the three trade ambassadors dismissed the climbers against the last votes and attacked the government’s policies.
Ms. Abbott, who entered the Parliament as the first black female deputy of England in 1987, claimed that the party leadership was trying to push it. He said: “I got a tremendous support locally. Finally, Keir Starmer and the people around him had to withdraw.”
He added that he had “tips”, and if he agreed to resign, a place would be offered in the House of Lords – but he insisted: “I will never do this. And today I am a Labor Party deputy and grateful.”
Finally, an official warning was given and he had to complete an anti -Semitism awareness course. Although Labour’s internal investigation ended in the beginning of 2024, it was only re -adopted in May. Hackney continues to be a member of parliament for North and Stoke Newington and has the honorary title of the mother of the house.
