Following the attack, 5 people were detained on suspicion of murder. They were later released on bail while the investigation continued. A sixth man, who was initially arrested on suspicion of murder, was also released without further action.

Detective Chief Inspector Lee Holehouse, of West Mercia Police, said police’s thoughts were with the family and friends of the deceased. He said the investigation was continuing.

“Over the last few days my team has been carrying out extensive investigations to establish what happened on Tuesday morning and what led to the death of a man,” Holehouse said, as quoted by The Hindu.

Police confirmed officers will continue to be on Barbourne Road throughout the weekend to collect further evidence. Holehouse reassured the local community that this presence was part of routine investigative work and there was no cause for public alarm.
