DK Shivakumar takes oath as Karnataka CM, 13 ministers join Cabinet – The Economic Times Video

Congress leader DK Shivakumar was sworn in as the 34th chief minister of Karnataka on Wednesday. The swearing-in ceremony at Lok Bhavan in Bengaluru was attended by senior Congress leaders, chief ministers of Congress-ruled states, religious leaders and other dignitaries. Shivakumar’s swearing-in while carrying a copy of the Constitution of India attracted attention at the ceremony. Senior Congress leader G Parameshwara also took oath and will serve as deputy chief minister in the new government. Parameshwara, a prominent Dalit leader, previously served as Home Minister in the Siddaramaiah-led administration and served as Deputy Chief Minister in the Congress-JD(S) coalition government headed by HD Kumaraswamy between 2018 and 2019. He took oath in the name of Dr BR Ambedkar.
