DNC’s ‘holes filled’ pothole post about NYC Mayor Mamdani stuns viewers

A graphic posted Sunday by the Democratic National Committee’s official Instagram account shocked social media users with the suggestive language and sexual innuendos used by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani as he described his work to repair the city’s roads.
The text framed above Mamdani’s picture read “HOLES FILLED” in bold blue-white letters.
The post included additional text explaining that the graphic was about the city’s infrastructure.
“As of March 20, Mayor Mamdani’s pothole bombing has filled 66,000 holes,” the full statement read.

That didn’t stop online viewers from admiring his choice of words.
“How did this get through approvals!?!?!?” A Republican strategist said: reacted to the image.
“Hahahah what is this???” Tim Pool, a podcast host he said in his own article.
The image caused some users to wonder if the post was serious.
“Are you kidding me?” another user wrote.
As of Monday, the post remained in place.
The footage comes as Mamdani tries to fulfill promises to improve New York City’s infrastructure. In addition to telling voters he would focus on the city’s roads, Mamdani also made national news with promises to improve free public transportation, create as many as 200,000 new affordable homes and renovate more than 500 schools.

Sunday’s post isn’t the first time the DNC has published images of Mamdani accompanied by sexual double entendres. In at least two more instances, the account followed the same format: a picture of Mamdani overlaid with bold white letters on a blue background.
“As of February 24th, all streets in the five boroughs of New York City have been PLOWED,” another post read. as of early this year.
Another news about snowfall was made in a similar style.
“As of February 23, New York City has 16 INCHES of snowfall.” wrote the DNC.
This example prompted one Instagram commenter to remark that they “know what they’re doing there.”
In the post about potholes, some viewers praised Mamdani for her work while ignoring the statements in the post.

“Mayor Mamdani, you are ruthless,” one Democratic strategist wrote.
“Greatness,” Democratic influencer Jack Cocchiarella wrote of X.
However, these praises brought their own criticisms.

“I don’t think sexual puns about Mamdani will win the support of many voters,” said a popular far-left activist account on X.
“Celebrating filling potholes? Isn’t that one of the core functions of a city government?” wrote another observer.
Mamdani’s office did not respond to a request for comment on the image and whether its language was appropriate. Fox News Digital also reached out to the DNC.
