Does regime change ever work? History says it can be disastrous

The latest US-Israeli bombings in Iran are different from last year because this time one of the stated aims was regime change.
The current Iranian regime, which mass murders civilians at home and incites violence abroad, has few friends internationally.

However, the historical record of imposed regime change, particularly by the United States, is patchy at best.
