Movie-style moment SUV flips over during wild police chase as four-month-old baby FLIES out of car and other children are rescued from inside
A shocking video has shown the moment a baby was thrown from a car carrying four other children during a high-speed police chase.
Arkansas State Police attempted to stop a black SUV for a traffic violation on May 24, but the driver, 28-year-old Tyrice Fletcher, allegedly refused to pull over and sped away, reaching speeds of more than 100 mph.
Police vehicle camera footage shows the van driving wildly down the road before skidding across the grass.
There were large clouds of dust and dirt behind the minibus, which was speeding forward with its passenger side door sagging.
The SUV then flips over and tears up a yard before crashing into a pole. The 4-month-old baby was thrown from the car as it rolled.
While a police officer picked up the baby and carried him to safety, police rushed to the car with firearms.
Another officer took three other young children under the age of six out of the overturned car and checked them for injuries.
None of the children were wearing seat belts, all escaped with minor injuries and were taken to hospital.

The SUV was traveling at 100 mph before going off the road and hitting a pole.

State police said they tried to stop the chase by hitting the SUV with their vehicle, not knowing there were children inside.
During the chase, police said Fletcher lost control of the van and the children’s mother was notified of the incident.
Fletcher remains in custody at the Ouachita County Detention Center, facing a number of charges including escape, child endangerment, and weapons and drug-related charges.
“This parent made a conscious choice to engage in this activity with four kids in the car, there were no restrictions on it, so this is absolutely appalling,” Col. Mike Hagar of the Arkansas State Police said at a conference.
‘Of course, the presence of children in the vehicle with a fleeing suspect will certainly be a huge factor in whether or not you proceed with this pursuit.
“In this situation and the situation we had a few months ago with a toddler in the car, the trooper had no idea,” Hagar said.
Three other children were rescued from the vehicle while an officer evaluated one child for injuries.
All of the children in the vehicle were under the age of six and were not wearing seat belts.

When asked if the trooper would face consequences, Hagar insisted the spotlight was on the driver who started the chase.
‘What was he punished for? They don’t know if there are children in the car. I’ve said this so many times that we need to get out of the mindset of focusing on ibuprofen and start looking at headaches.
‘We do not initiate pursuit. We never initiated a single pursuit, not once. “We are responding to the suspect’s reckless criminal actions,” he said.
