Donald Trump calls for immediate NFL rule change after what he saw in Super Bowl 60

Donald Trump lashed out at Super Bowl 60 and called for immediate changes following what he described as a damaging moment for the NFL.
Following the game, the former US president focused his criticism on the halftime show and quickly expanded his comments to include league politics.

Trump shared his reaction in a post he published. TrumpTruthOnXdirectly responds to Bad Bunny’s halftime performance.
He wrote: “The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst shows ever! It makes no sense, is an insult to American Greatness, and does not represent our standards of success, creativity, or excellence.”
“Nobody understands a word this guy says and the dancing is disgusting, especially for little kids watching from all over the United States and the world.”
The comments were uncompromising and immediate. Trump framed the halftime show not as a matter of taste but as a failure to reflect what he believes the Super Bowl should represent.
As is often the case, Trump’s response quickly spread on social media and became part of the larger debate surrounding the NFL’s entertainment choices.
Why does Donald Trump want the NFL to change the kickoff rule?
Trump’s sharing was not limited to the halftime show. He also used the moment to announce a specific NFL rule change.
He continued: “This ‘spectacle’ is just a ‘slap in the face’ for our Country, which sets new standards and records every day, including the best Stock Exchange and 401(k)s in history!”
“There is nothing inspiring about this halftime show and viewing mess. It’s going to get great reviews from the fake news media because they have no idea what’s going on in the real world, and by the way, the NFL needs to change their ridiculous new kickoff rule immediately. Make America great again!”
The mention of the kick-off rule stood out. Instead of limiting his response to the fun, Trump turned his attention to the league’s on-field changes.
His criticism showed his frustration with what he saw as unnecessary adjustments to the game itself.
The NFL’s revised kickoff rule, implemented in 2024, has already divided fans; some praise the improvements, while others argue it takes away from the excitement.
As the fallout from Super Bowl 60 continues, the former president’s comments helped expand the halftime show discussion beyond music.
It has once again become a flashpoint for how sports, culture and politics intersect on the biggest stage.
