Donald Trump health concerns explode on 80th birthday – major thing ‘lacking’ | US | News

Donald Trump “lacks” the essential qualities needed to become US President, according to commentators speaking on his 80th birthday. The American leader will celebrate his 80th birthday today with a cage-fighting spectacle on the White House’s famed South Lawn that one UFC chief described as “a one-of-a-kind, incredible event.”
The milestone birthday is likely to fuel speculation that Mr. Trump’s age will negatively impact his ability to do his job; However, recent significant memory loss and visible symptoms such as bruising and swelling are further fueling the debate. Mr. Trump and those close to him shot down those claims and insisted he was in “excellent” health; but according to one reviewer, even a particularly agile 80-year-old could cope with the challenges of such a powerful and demanding role.
“An 80-year-old doesn’t have the physical and mental stamina for that office,” Rahm Emanuel, a prominent Democrat and former chief of staff to Barack Obama, told the New York Times.
“This ages you like no other stress in your life,” he added.
This comes after it was reported that Mr Trump met with a record-breaking 22 specialists during his latest medical check-up; this was double the number he had seen six months earlier.
The US leader said in a subsequent post on Truth Social that the appointment went “excellently”, and a White House spokesman said the involvement of multiple experts “reflects a comprehensive, multidisciplinary assessment consistent with best practices for executive-level medical care.”
Dr William Shultze told the Washington Post: “This report is too good to be true for someone his age. This appears to be a filtered narrative.”
But the White House hit back at his comments, with communications director Steven Cheung responding: “President Trump has publicly disclosed more detailed information about his health than any other president in history, indicating that he is in excellent health.”
