Donald Trump has sparked fresh speculation about his health after trying to “hide” his bruised hands during a major speech. The US president’s colorless hands were front and center as he addressed the nation on Thursday.
As he has done many times before, Mr. Trump tried to hide the bruises with visible makeup. The White House said last year that the large bruise on the leader’s right hand was the result of intense handshaking combined with his daily aspirin routine. However, commentators have since noticed a similar mark on his left hand; Mr. Trump attributed this to the fact that it had been clipped onto the desk in January. Social media users labeled the bruising “gnarly” and “messy” and called for more clarity on the issue that caused it.

“He doesn’t have the physical stamina of an 80-year-old, he doesn’t have the mental stamina for that office,” Rahm Emanuel, a prominent Democrat and former chief of staff to Barack Obama, told the New York Times.
But the White House has refused to acknowledge that Trump’s health is anything other than “excellent”; His personal physician, Sean Barbarella, insisted he showed “strong heart, lung, neurological and overall physical function” after a checkup in the spring.
His spokesman added: “President Trump’s sharpness, unparalleled energy and historic accessibility contrast sharply with what we saw during the last administration, when Democrats and legacy media deliberately suppressed Joe Biden’s serious mental and physical decline from the American people.”
