Donald Trump says ‘I’m not taking any chances’ as he addresses health fears | World | News

He said the bruise was due to taking aspirin.

Since aspirin has a blood-thinning effect, it may cause increased bruising and bleeding. This can prevent platelets from sticking together to form clots.

Answering a reporter’s question about the bruise on his hand, the US leader said, “I am very well. I cut it on the table. I put some – what do they call it – cream on it. But I cut it.”

“If you love your heart, I say take an aspirin, but if you don’t want to bruise a little, don’t take an aspirin.”

“I take the big aspirin. They say you turn blue when you take the big aspirin.”

“The doctors said, ‘You don’t need to take this, sir. You’re very healthy.’ I said, ‘I’m not leaving anything to chance.’ This is one of the side effects of taking aspirin.”

Trump’s health is regularly monitored.

He has been seen to have bruises on his hands in the past.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said it was the result of too much handshaking.
