Donald Trump to resume Iran war ‘in days’ as Iran issues chilling WW3 warning | World | News

According to reports, US President Donald Trump may restart the war in Iran with new attacks within a few days. Journalist Barak Ravid reported that a senior US administration official on Sunday informed Iran in advance about the planned operation to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and warned Tehran not to intervene.
This was followed on Tuesday by a message from Joint Chiefs Chairman Dan Caine saying the ceasefire was still in effect. But Mr. Ravid reported that “some senior American and Israeli officials” believe that Mr. Trump could order a resumption of war “later this week if the diplomatic stalemate continues.”
Mr. Caine said the U.S. military was prepared to quickly restart the war if the President ordered it.
Speaking in the Pentagon briefing room, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Iran would face “overwhelming American firepower” if it attacked American troops.
He said: “If you attack American troops or innocent merchant ships, you will face American firepower against what remains of Iranian forces.
“The President has been very clear on this issue. We prefer this to be a peaceful mission, but we are locked and loaded to defend our people, our ships, our aircraft and this mission without hesitation.”
He said this was to ensure 24/7 surveillance of “peaceful” commercial ships, except those coming from Iran. The US Secretary of Defense then appeared to deal a harsh blow to NATO, saying “the world needs this waterway much more than we do.”
Mr. Hegseth said the United States was “stabilizing the situation so that Hormuz can flow again” but was “waiting for the world to step up.” “We will return the responsibility to you at the appropriate time and soon,” he added.
