Donald Trump’s granddaughter Kai to make LPGA tour debut at $3.25m event in Florida | Golf

Donald Trump’s grandson will take a detour on his way to play college golf at the University of Miami – Kai Trump will make her LPGA Tour debut next month.

The 18-year-old football player received a sponsor exemption to play football on Tuesday. Annika at Pelican Golf Club From November 13 to 16, it is the penultimate event on the LPGA calendar. The tournament, which has a prize money of $3.25 million, is prestigious and overall has one of the strongest fields of the year outside the majors.

“My dream was to compete with the best in the world on the LPGA Tour,” Trump said in a statement. “This event will be an incredible experience. I look forward to meeting and competing with many of my heroes and mentors in golf in my debut on the LPGA Tour.”

Donald Trump Jr.’s oldest daughter, Trump, is a senior at the Benjamin School in Florida. He has committed to play golf for the Miami Hurricanes next year. He competes nationally with the American Junior Golf Association and locally in amateur events in Florida. Playing in three events this year, she is currently ranked 461st in the AJGA Girls rankings.

Trump has more than six million followers on social media and recently launched a clothing and lifestyle brand aimed at young women in sports.

“Sponsor invitations are an important way to highlight emerging talent and drive new interest in our tournaments and the LPGA,” said Ricki Lasky, LPGA’s chief tour business and operations officer. “Kai’s large following and reach helps introduce golf to new audiences, especially younger fans. We are excited to see him take the next step in his journey.”

Annika has already announced that WNBA star Caitlin Clark will return to professional soccer on November 13 for the second year in a row. Nelly Korda is the defending champion.
